Mineral meets natural
Located in the heart of an Ontario ecoregion, Catherine’s property has one major plus: its wooded parkland, where the listed trees spend happy days swaying along the stream. Naturally, this preserved environment inspired the development of the three patios overlooking the swimming pool. Catherine oversaw the project from A to Z with the help of Laurent, a director at Jardin de Ville, for the furnishings.
Graphic dip
Charcoal-coloured lounge chairs and large black umbrellas stand out on the mineral-toned backdrop, which marries white stone as far as the eye can see with an elegant glass facade. The intended graphic effect integrates seamlessly into the surrounding environment.
All in a row, the large flower pots delineate the edge of the patio while softening the corners.
Catherine opted for the Cadzand lounge chairs from Jardin de Ville. Lightweight and equipped with rear wheels, they move easily around the pool.
Surrounded by greenery
“Can’t get any bigger, right?” says Catherine, laughing in front of the massive table sitting on the upper patio. Conceived by Belgian designer Mathias de Ferm, Wire Majestic was crafted for large families like Catherine’s. “We wanted everyone to have a place at the table,” she adds. Come nightfall, two freestanding lamps envelop the lively table in their soft light.
Through the seasons
Facing the fit pit, a pavilion with large bay windows opens and closes with the flow of nature. Furnished with the comfortable Let’s Play outdoor sofa and a modular coffee table, it can transform into a cozy transitional space come fall.
